The first part of the demonstration showed how Smartcat transforms the initial translation workflow.

The editor includes a full toolbar of professional translation tools, including AI actions. Glossaries sync automatically, so terminology stays consistent across all languages. This is critical for regulated industries where specific terms must be used precisely.

From the asset menu, users can switch to other content types like images. They can zoom, adjust alignment, change text size and color, or select different fonts. For video, the editor supports subtitle review and direct video editing, including a full AI voiceover library.

If there are multiple speakers, different voices can be assigned to each. All language versions are one click away—no multiple tabs, everything lives in one workspace.

The webinar also demonstrated Storyline translation capabilities. Users can upload .story files, translate text and slide notes, switch between slides, play scenes with the built-in timeline, and work across layers. Media assets are included and editable right inside the same editor.

The demonstration paused to summarize the transformation:

Before: A SCORM file meant just a text file. Everything else was left untouched or handled separately. Adding a reviewer meant leaving the platform, tracking someone down, and hoping feedback came back on time.

The second part of the demonstration addressed what traditionally takes longer than the translation itself—the preview and export process.

Before exporting, users do a final check and preview directly in Smartcat. They can customize the SCORM by uploading custom fonts—once uploaded, fonts can be applied to all future courses. Color schemes can be adjusted, navigation styles modified, and course covers changed if needed.

Users can check how the course looks across devices to ensure learners get a consistent experience everywhere. Language versions can be compared by switching between them right from the preview—no need to open anything else.

When everything looks good, users export and choose the SCORM format needed—1.2 or 2004. Here is what makes this different: Smartcat supports multilingual SCORM export. Instead of five separate packages, everything is delivered as one LMS-ready course with a language toggle built in.

For Storyline users, the translated.story file can be exported directly back to Articulate Storyline to finalize edits and check for layout issues.

The third part of the demonstration addressed what happens after launch—because in life sciences, content is never truly finished.

Three weeks after launch, a regulatory update comes through. One paragraph needs to change. In Melissa's traditional world, that means opening all five language versions, making the same edit manually in each, reexporting, and reuploading to the LMS. If a vendor did the original translation, she is restarting that entire process from scratch. One source change turns into weeks of manual work.
