New 'Getting Started with Smartcat' Academy Course Available

Smartcat has launched Getting Started with Smartcat, a free, self-paced Smartcat Academy course that takes new users from "just signed up" to running their first translation project on their own. The course runs about 60 minutes and is built for anyone who manages translations as part of their job.

It is aimed at learning and development, marketing, content, localization and sales enablement managers. No translation or technical background is needed.

When something changes, a new product, a new regulation, a competitor move, content in every market has to catch up. Smartcat calls that lag the Market Adaptation Gap, and new teams feel it most while they are still learning a new platform.

The course shortens that learning curve. New users set up their AI Chief of Staff, which hands work to a team of AI coworkers, and they learn where their own people stay in charge. The AI coworkers do the repeatable work. People make the final call.

The course has ten short sections, plus a welcome with a checklist of first goals, a 15-question final quiz, and a wrap-up on where to get help. Some sections walk you through each step, and others give an overview.

• Set up your AI Chief of Staff and invite your team. Give your AI Chief of Staff a name, an avatar and a profile, and learn what AI coworkers, Skills and Automations do. Then invite colleagues as Administrators, Teammates or Linguists.

• Add your existing translations and terms. Upload your translation memories and glossaries, now called Reviewed Translations and Terminology, or let Smartcat build them by scanning your website or analyzing translated documents.

• Translate your first files. See the ways to translate, from asking your AI Chief of Staff to Quick Translate, then set up a translation project yourself and download the result.

• Get translations reviewed. Compare the three ways to review, assign a Reviewer Coworker to a task, and hire a professional linguist from the Smartcat Marketplace when you need one.

• Manage projects and see results. Get to know the Project Manager Dashboard, update changed content with the Content Update Coworker, and find out where your reports and integrations live.

The course includes ten short sections, ten demo videos, a guided platform tour, a Getting Started checklist and a final quiz. It is self-paced, and learners can open the sections in any order.

It works best with a Smartcat account open alongside it, so learners can follow each step with their own content. Some features are not included on every plan, and the course marks them clearly.
