Website Translator is a tool that allows you to automatically translate all your website content in mere minutes and publish it for your visitors without any development efforts. With the improvements introduced in recent months it got even more convenient than before. Here’s what we added:Automated translation options. You can now enable automatic translation as a default behavior for all website visitors. With this mode enabled, simply install one line of JavaScript code onto your website, and your visitors will automatically get a translated experience on all pages. Website Translator will auto-detect the user's preferred language and switch to it. You also have an option to give users a way to manually switch to another language.  Language selector placement options. From the same settings dialog of Website Translator, you can now control the placement of a floating language selector (available options are: top-right corner, bottom-right corner, and hidden). You can also fine-tune the placement by providing exact offsets from the edge of the page. Manager view: Smartwords balance notification. When previewing your website and performing translations, we will show you the amount of Smartwords available on your account. More flexibility with our WPML connector

We’ve got great news for our WordPress/WPML integration users. Now you can translate just a few posts or pages instead of a whole website. When setting up a new integration, select the pages or posts you want to translate in the Translation Scope tab. These will be localized and pushed back to your website when the next sync is run.And there's more! Our integration now also lets you translate more custom fields.  As a reminder, Smartcat already integrates with the ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) plugin, probably the most widely used WordPress extension for adding custom fields to blog posts.Now, we also support the CMB2 plugin, another popular solution for this purpose. To translate the metadata or any other custom field, just select them in the same Translation Scope tab.But you don’t have to translate any custom fields at all if you don’t want to. The new Editor is designed to create a serene, uncluttered environment that helps you stay focused on your work. All the functionality you've gotten used to has remained untouched, more useful and powerful features based on our customers' feedback have been added, but the Editor looks surprisingly clean and almost transparent.To enable you to tailor the look-and-feel to your liking, we've made it customizable through various attributes. Smartcat Translator for Desktop

Smartcat Translator for Desktop is a long-awaited companion to its namesake extension for the Google Chrome browser. Smartcat Translator for Desktop is the easiest way to communicate or create content in multiple languages on the go. For maximum versatility, we have provided three versions of the app: for macOS, Windows, and Linux.The only pre-requisite to installing Smartcat Translator is an active Smartcat account. If this requirement is fulfilled, download the suitable version, launch the lightning-fast installation, and the next thing you see is this cheerful person with a genuinely puzzled cat welcoming you to Smartcat Translator.The only required settings are Source text and Target text languages. As soon as those are defined, you can select any text on the page or type it inside the source text editor, and then press Ctrl + Enter to translate the it. The translation to the selected target language will immediately appear in the Target text field.In addition to translating texts directly in the Translator window, you can translate them in any application without losing the keyboard focus, by executing a simple sequence of keystrokes. To simplify the process even further, you can automate it and reduce it to a single keystroke. Note that keeping your Translator window open is not necessary. You can close it and continue using the shortcuts to perform the translation.Smartcat Translator will automatically check for updates on startup. If there is a new version, a notification will be shown and the application will be updated on restart.

Reach out to new audiences with video subtitles translated in Smartcat

Smartcat’s video subtitles editing module provide you with the fundamental capability of immediately previewing the translated subtitles in the video, make sure they conform to the size limitations and are displayed exactly when necessary.Smartcat lets you translate subtitles manually or automatically with post-editing with just a couple of clicks. All you need to do is upload your video subtitle, choose the target and source languages, open the Smartcat editor, and use the Source preview tab to upload the video.Even while the video is not uploaded, the subtitles are fully functional, allowing you to scroll them and have the subtitle matching the currently selected segment highlighted in the Target and Source preview.The timeline shows the CPS (characters per second) for each segment, enabling you to adjust the translation accordingly. The CPS indicators are color-coded to give a better understanding of the text density.After you've uploaded a video, it appears in your project's Files tab as a reference file. You need to explicitly select it in the Preview tab and then the screens that were empty and black come alive and you can see your subtitles in action.In addition to Source preview, Smartcat also allows you to preview the current Target version. By switching to the Target preview tab you can assess how readable the translation is, whether it is correctly synchronized with the picture, and whether there are specific subtitles strings that need to be split or shortened. If no translation is yet available for a specific segment, its source text will appear in the target preview.

The days when a user was required to create and maintain multiple accounts in order to manage projects or perform routine translation tasks are now gone. You can choose any role after login and then switch to another role with literally one click.After login, you are tactfully reminded of your current role by the notification in the top-right corner:Clicking on this notification opens the role selector allowing you to either proceed with your current role or switch to another role, whichever is more relevant at the moment.Clicking Choose in the Simple user tile transports you to the workspace where all your translation tasks are shown with just the right amount of detail: name, creation date, completion level, source and target languages, the number of files, and the respective amount of words and segments.Selecting an existing task prompts you to proceed working on it using the editor or to enable automatic translation:Alternatively, you can launch a new task by clicking Create a new translation.You can also invite teammates to lend you a hand with any task by selecting this option from a drop-down list:If you are assigned to some projects as Project Manager, you can start handling them by switching to the corresponding role and finding yourself in a workspace with the advanced set of features. Transform monolingual Figma files into multilingual with Smartcat connector

Figma is a web-based graphics editing and user interface design app widely used for designing mobile app interfaces, prototyping designs, creating social media posts, and everything in between. The Smartcat plugin for Figma will instantly translate your Figma pages and individual frames into any language, allowing you to modify and test layouts in one place, without the messiness of endless copies for every language.To start using the Smartcat plugin for automated translation, select the source language and destination languages. As soon as a destination language is specified, the original texts in frames will be automatically translated and replaced with their equivalents.When multiple languages are selected, you can switch between them, verify that the translated text is correctly located inside the frame and make necessary adjustments on the fly.The number displayed next to each destination language represents the percentage of the source text in the selected frame currently translated to this particular language. If the number is smaller than 100%, click on the three-dot icon for the corresponding language and select Update translations. The Smartcat plugin allows you to keep track of the styles applied to various text objects in your frames. If Show text object properties is toggled on, the currently selected text objects and its styles will appear at the bottom of the plugin window.If the automated translation needs to be improved, select the corresponding text object and edit it in the Smartcat plugin window. Localization Project Managers are responsible for translation quality and are constantly in search for the most efficient and versatile tools for evaluating and providing feedback on translations. It is, after all, vital for quality enrichment and quality assurance. Smartcat now automates this procedure by providing the LQA tool that enables you to:Select the quality criteriaCreate LQA projects and assign them to editorsDecide how often you want to test a specific translatorGet a badge notification when quality assessment is completeYou cannot assess a translation's quality until it is finished. Therefore, LQA checks can be created for completed projects only. To be eligible for an LQA check, the project must have a subject set in the project details and the identical subject and language pair specified in the freelancer's profile.After making sure that the project is completed and meets the above requirements, the Project Manager navigates to Team, selects  Linguistic Quality Assurance and is prompted to start creating an LQA check:After specifying the initial LQA settings and selecting a linguist and a language pair, all the remaining parameters are set, such as subject, project, document, and editor.Clicking Create an LQA check will not only create a new LQA check, but also automatically send an email with a link to the corresponding project to the designated editor. After receiving the notification email and clicking on the link, the editor is redirected to the LQA tool, where they open the project and start reviewing it. If the editor detects an error, they use the mouse to select the problematic segment, indicate the error type and optionally leave a comment explaining why they consider the current translation erroneous.

Akeneo is one of the most popular product information management (PIM) systems that help brands provide quality customer service across all sales channels, store product data, and manage product catalogues easily.Smartcat can connect to your Akeneo account and import all the source fields marked as localizable. If some of your product descriptions are already translated, Smartcat will import the existing language versions automatically. When the translation is ready, the localized versions will be pushed back to Akeneo.You can also customize the translation process to your liking: use machine translation, translate the documents manually, assign your internal linguists to do it, or find and hire trusted translators and editors at our marketplace.In the example below, there are 370 localizable source fields, but the Smartcat connector eats such volumes for breakfast:After gathering and processing information from Akeneo, Smartcat represents it in the same exact hierarchy, allowing you to select the categories for translation:The rest is the ordinary integration configuration process that Smartcat customers are already familiar with: select the source and target languages, choose the most suitable workflow type and click Translate.If some of your product descriptions are already translated, Smartcat will import the existing language versions automatically.When the translation is ready, the localized versions will be pushed back to Akeneo and appear when the respective language is selected from the Locale drop-down list.

You can conveniently download our template by navigating to Supplier Payments > Add Supplier Job > Bulk import multiple jobs, clicking Import, and then clicking Download.The template is merely a table consisting of multiple columns. Their number should not intimidate you - all of them are self-explanatory and you can always refer to our documentation for their detailed descriptions. Among the required job details are:Supplier's email address and full nameThe service provided by the supplierThe job’s source and target languagesThe billable unit typeThe amount of units in the job and the rate per unitThe start and end dates, and moreWhen the spreadsheet is complete with your suppliers' job details, return to the Choose file to upload page and upload the file back into Smartcat.
