Add Smartcat AI to Slack
A workspace admin or owner opens the install link, clicks Add to Slack and approves the permissions. The app is then available to the whole workspace.

Or request it as a member
If your workspace requires approval, go to Tools → Apps, search for Smartcat AI and submit a request. Admins can pre-approve it in App Management Settings.

Sign in with your Smartcat account
Run /smartcat-ai-login and follow the link. Each person connects their own account and only ever sees their own data.

Check your connection
/smartcat-ai-status shows which account is connected and what it can access. /smartcat-ai-logout disconnects. Both reply only to you, so they’re safe in shared channels.

Start a conversation
Message @Smartcat AI directly, mention it in a thread, or open it in Slack’s AI assistant panel and pick a suggested prompt.

Every Slack thread is saved as a conversation in Smartcat. Continue it in the web app with the same memory and context.

What is the Smartcat AI Slack app?
It lets you talk to your Chief of Staff — your personal Smartcat AI coworker — directly in Slack. Ask questions, research information, create content, build automations and manage your work without switching to the Smartcat web app.
What can I do with Smartcat AI in Slack?

How do I install the Smartcat AI app in Slack?
A Slack workspace admin or owner opens the Smartcat AI install link, clicks Add to Slack and approves the permissions. The app then becomes available to everyone in the workspace — no one needs to install it individually.
My workspace requires app approval. What do I do?
In Slack, go to Tools → Apps (or More), search for Smartcat AI and click Add. Add a note for your admins and submit. Admins can also pre-approve the app under Admin → Apps and workflows → App Management Settings.
Does everyone on my team need a Smartcat account?
Yes. The app is installed once per workspace, but each person signs in with their own Smartcat account and talks to their own Chief of Staff. Individuals only ever see their own data.
Is it safe to use in shared channels?
Yes. Your Chief of Staff responds only to you and works within your own permissions. The /smartcat-ai-login, /smartcat-ai-status and /smartcat-ai-logout commands reply only to the person who ran them.
Can I continue a Slack conversation in Smartcat?
Yes. A new top-level message starts a new conversation; replies in the thread continue it. Every thread is stored in Smartcat, so you can open the same conversation in the web app and carry on there.
How many languages does it support?
Smartcat translates into 280+ languages. Your Chief of Staff applies your preferences and terminology, so translations stay consistent across markets.
Can I switch between Smartcat workspaces in Slack?
Not at the moment. Slack has no workspace picker, so if you belong to more than one Smartcat workspace, the app binds to one account.
