Smartcat, the all-in-one platform enabling Connected Translation, has been named among the best startup employers in the USA for 2020. The prestigious award, prepared annually by the Forbes business magazine and the Statista portal, is based on interviews with workers of companies around the country. It also factors in various statistical indicators, such as company goodwill and growth — based on millions of data points analyzed. The list comprises 500 best startup employers, selected from among thousands of candidate companies.
Smartcat views this acknowledgment as a big win not only for the company itself — the only one from the translation industry on the list — but for the industry as a whole. “For far too long, our industry has been viewed as a backwater, where nothing exciting happens,” says Smartcat CEO Ivan Smolnikov. “Our standing among America’s Top 500 Startup Employers proves the contrary: There’s a lot of sexy stuff going on here, with some of the biggest innovations in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence being applied as we speak.”
Smolnikov also reiterated Smartcat’s commitment to hiring top talent for its open positions. “Both in our hometown of Boston — where the concentration of talent is staggering — and in all our global locations, we hold a towering bar for job seekers,” he says. “We’re trying to gather the most influential and forward-minded people in all aspects — from engineering to sales. This is the only way to achieve our ultra-ambitious goals for 2020 and beyond.”
Smartcat is building an all-in-one platform connecting businesses and translators into a streamlined content delivery loop. It is changing the way the language industry works by allowing all its players to create multilingual content, non-stop. Smartcat uses a disruptive business model to enable Connected Translation, bringing the $45b translation industry together in a market network where all buyers and suppliers can interact, collaborate, and grow. As of March 2020, Smartcat has more than 100 employees globally.
