Hi, I am from India. I have been working as a freelance translator for the last six years. I have also worked as a German language specialist in a legal firm. I use SDL Trados for translation and I can translate approx. 3500-4000 words per day. Maintaining quality and meeting deadlines are equally essential for me. I believe in delivering quality work on time.

I am a English & German native speaker with a great passion for language. Since 2014 I have been working as English to German freelance translator. In addition to that I have also gained valuable in-house experience by working at established and well-known translation agencies occupying roles as translation checker and proof-reader as well as project manager and translator.

I've been born to German-speaking Austrian parents but was raised in English-speaking Canada. Due to this fact and to the fact that I competed my Master's in Austria, I am fluent in both languages and am fond of translating from German into English. Since 2000, when I started my translator's career, I've managed to translate millions of words in a great range of fields, from fiction to medicine.

I am an experienced, reliable and diligent translator and copyeditor, specializing in academic articles. I take pride in producing quality work, delivered on time. My regular clients include universities, research institutes, and manufacturing firms. Although confident in taking on a wide range of text types in a variety of fields, my focus in recent years has increasingly been on economics, business and marketing. To date, I have translated or edited over 500 articles, and my work has been featured in a wide range of reputable peer-reviewed journals, including the European Management Journal, International Business Review, Cogent Economics & Finance and Expert Systems with Applications, to name just a few. Having lived in Spain for over 10 years, I have gained an understanding and appreciation of the subtleties of Spanish language and culture. Prior to working as a translator, I was an English teacher for many years, which gave me an excellent knowledge of the mechanics of English.

I have been working as a language specialist since 2000, initially working in ESL/EFL teaching and international test preparation before focusing on Spanish to English translation (legal, energy, water, wine, mining, among others). I have gained experience working for the different ministries in Chile (ChileCompra, Foreign Ministry, Treasury, etc), along with numerous local and international companies (Codelco, AES Corp, Siemens, etc.), as well as local universities (UDEC, UBB, UDD), in documents ranging from a simple CV through to the contracts, manuals and university papers. I have also been fortunate enough to translate several books including No return Guaranteed the fascinating story behind the rescue of Ernest Shackleton's crew from Antarctica. I localize online, marketing, commercial and PR content to help give clients direct access to the English-speaking market, specializing in the tourism industry. My extensive translation experience includes tourism websites, legal documents, rental contracts, social media articles as well as literature, having translated my first book last year (2016). I also provide English editing/proofreading services in collaboration with non-English native translators in other language pairs. I also have experience acting as a volunteer interpreter in emergency medical situations among a community of expats in Ecuador.

I am currently studying an MA in translation studies on a part-time basis (2021-2023), having completed an undergraduate degree in European Studies with German and Spanish over the previous four years. Having worked as an intern in a translation and localization role in 2021, continuing as a freelancer afterwards, I have 6 months experience in translating a wide range of texts. I have a keen interest in travel and culture, having spent time abroad in both Germany and Spain during my degree. With exceptional writing skills, having written a first-class dissertation and essays for competitions and journals, I bring an organisational mindset and an eye for detail to my work. I also have considerable interpersonal skills through my role as a peer support leader in guiding first year students through their transition into university.
