I have been working as a language specialist since 2000, initially working in ESL/EFL teaching and international test preparation before focusing on Spanish to English translation (legal, energy, water, wine, mining, among others). I have gained experience working for the different ministries in Chile (ChileCompra, Foreign Ministry, Treasury, etc), along with numerous local and international companies (Codelco, AES Corp, Siemens, etc.), as well as local universities (UDEC, UBB, UDD), in documents ranging from a simple CV through to the contracts, manuals and university papers. I have also been fortunate enough to translate several books including No return Guaranteed the fascinating story behind the rescue of Ernest Shackleton's crew from Antarctica. I am a freelance Portuguese to English translator/content writer. I specialize in the social sciences and IT/Software development. I am currently based in Ireland, but I have spent many years living in Portugal. I have five years professional experience as a software developer and I remain up to date in the area. I am especially interested in R programming and data visualization.
