I have an MA in Translation Sciences from the University of Heidelberg in Germany and a BA from Queen's University in Canada in Foreign Languages and Intl. Studies (French/German). I grew up in Ontario, Canada, and English is my mother language. I have many years of immersion in my source languages, years of uninterrupted translation experience, and an excellent command of English, my target language. I specialize in medical translation. If I had to describe myself: a linguaphile. All of my life, I have been passionate about languages and how they apply to our day-to-day, from work to art to shopping and everything in-between. With English as my first language, I grew up in a bilingual country where I was exposed to both French and English, hence my excellent mastery of my source language. I studied microbiology at university, then obtained a postgraduate diploma to teach biology, which I have been teaching for six years now. I've been born to German-speaking Austrian parents but was raised in English-speaking Canada. Due to this fact and to the fact that I competed my Master's in Austria, I am fluent in both languages and am fond of translating from German into English. Since 2000, when I started my translator's career, I've managed to translate millions of words in a great range of fields, from fiction to medicine.
