I am a freelance translator. I majored in communications at the Universidad Iberoamericana (Ibero); I also have a diploma in Academic Abilities by the ITESO and a master's degree in Humanities (Art, History, Philosophy, Literature) issued by the Tec de Monterrey/Cambridge University. I have been head of the career of Communication Sciences at the Institute of Sciences and Higher Studies of Tamaulipas. I have taught literature, short film, and film appreciation workshops; some of them were taught in Spanish some other in English. Also, I am a published author with over 15 years of experience writing short stories. I am a native speaker of both languages. I was born in the UK to Mexican parents, which means I have a full mastery of both languages. My work has revolved around translating financial reports for different companies all around the globe. After working for several NGOs in Latin America, he has worked for OxfamNovib in Central America, with El Taller’s education programme in Tunis, director of Citizen Diplomacy and CEO of Nexus in Colombia. Since 1999 he worked with Oxfam GB, first as country director for Colombia and as policy adviser in the Economic Justice team based in Oxford until 2014. He has lead the Regional and National campaigns for the GROW team in Oxfam International, and in 2014 he was the Director of Intermon's national programme in Bolivia. I am an English philologist whose biggest passions are languages and literature. My fields of expertise go from world's literatures to linguistics and language acquisition. Besides, I've furthered my expertise with an MA in Spanish as foreing language. I love learning about different cultures and traditions and trying to comprehend them so I can do better translations. Furthermore, as I love reading, I think that the best way to grasp an author's work is being able to read it in its own language. I also think it is important to learn languages because it brings people closer allowing a better understanding between them and that is the reason why I like translating: it builds bridges. Mainly, my working experience has involved education working as English and Spanish teacher in schools and freelance. Finally, I would like to obtain working experience as a translator because I would love working in the videogames industry as a linguistic tester because gaming is one of my hobbies.
