I have finished MA studies in Philology and Translation, currently I work in translation office in Warsaw. My native languages are Ukrainian and Russian, I am also fluent in English and Polish. I live in Poland for 5 years already.

I am an extremely responsible person and possess almost 5 years' experience in the world of translation, during which I have gained excellent mastery of texts and topics in many areas. I am a Lomonosov Moscow State University graduate in English, French, German and Spanish languages. During the course of my studies at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Area Studies I acquired a solid base in linguistics. Now I am studying at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University to get a second bachelor's degree in Biomedical appliances, which makes medicine and medical devices the area of special interest for me. I have extensive experience in technical (user manuals, technical guides, specification sheets, patents, software documentation, etc.), medical (clinical studies, articles, medical equipment manuals, clinical research, etc.) and legal (contracts, certificates, apostilles) translation as well as in marketing and website localization.

I have 5-year experience in translation of technical subjects (Construction, Metallurgy, Ore Dressing, Mining) texts. Also, I have translated texts on the subject of oil and gas, contracts, HSE, Electricity, IT.

I do not have a linguistic education, but in the process of my education, working as a lecturer, a researcher and an IT manager (up to CIO), I very often had to apply my knowledge of English for reading and translating English literature and documentation. Since 2017, translation has become the main activity for me. In this work I always try to achieve a meaningful result. Machine translation is mostly not used, although occasionally I resort to it, if the subject allows. I intensively use the CAT-system tools: translation memory, glossaries, concordance search. In the search for translations of terms I use all available means taking into account the context. I can aloso translate into another direction (English) but it's a torture for me because I'm not native in it.

I have been doing translations since 2006. I'm also running a translation agency, however that's a separate business, and you can be sure that all translations at smartcat are done by me personally. I am a certified translator, conference interpreter, engineer and Candidate of technical sciences (kandidat nauk). My language-related hobbies include etymology and comparative linguistics. * Yes, I do speak several languages. * No, I am not fluent enought in French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Belarusian, Ukrainian, Polish, Azerbaijani or Arabic to translate TO these languages, but I do understand them enough to translate FROM them.
