Within 23 years’ career in Caterpillar I had held many different positions in engineering, product support, sales, marketing and management. Later on was always involved in the practice of interpreting during negotiations with customers at various conferences, trainings and other events. Machine translation is mostly not used, although occasionally I resort to it, if the subject allows. I intensively use the CAT-system tools: translation memory, glossaries, concordance search. In the search for translations of terms I use all available means taking into account the context. I can aloso translate into another direction (English) but it's a torture for me because I'm not native in it.

I am a native Russian speaker. My major in the University was English and German. Translation English to Russian and back has been with me during my whole career, and that is what I enjoy doing for the past 25 years.
