I'm a licensed translator from French, English, Spanish and Italian languages. I have a Ph.D degree in linguistics for researching short French science-popular movies, so I have a large experience in movie translation that I like very much. Besides, I took a course of advanced training in hospitality in French after which I worked in a French company as animator. WHO I AM: Bilingual since birth I have always had an immence interest in two things: Music and Languages. Throughout my life i had many opportunities and demands to perform translation tasks on a personal and a professional level as well as privatly teaching languages. My translation experience spanns from simple e-meil and daily communications translations to academic translations. While bieng a professional composer i have gained great skill of holding myself to the deadline and demanding the highest standard of work. I am resoursful and an exceptionally quick learner, so no job would be too tough. MY LANGUAGES: Native: English, Russian. Aquired: Swedish (fluent), German (working proficiency), Finnish (working proficiency). I translate English into Greek and into Russian in which I am fully bilingual. I, also, proofread texts in these languages and create subtitles. I do not have a linguistic education, but in the process of my education, working as a lecturer, a researcher and an IT manager (up to CIO), I very often had to apply my knowledge of English for reading and translating English literature and documentation. Since 2017, translation has become the main activity for me. In this work I always try to achieve a meaningful result. Machine translation is mostly not used, although occasionally I resort to it, if the subject allows. I intensively use the CAT-system tools: translation memory, glossaries, concordance search. In the search for translations of terms I use all available means taking into account the context. I can aloso translate into another direction (English) but it's a torture for me because I'm not native in it.
