I am a PhD candidate at Koç University, Istanbul, at the faculty of Archaeology and History of Art. I have studied English for almost 20 years, I wrote my master thesis in English and my current PhD program is fully taught in English. I have translated a large amount of material from English to Italian, from Italian to English and from Turkish to English in the past years. In 2017 I got the TOEFL certificate with a score of 104/120. I write academic researches and texts in English on a weekly base, using materials written in various languages. I have direct experience of how important getting a good translation is and I am ready to help this happen for the people who need.

I started my career 21 years ago as in-house translator and PM at a translation agency based in Turin, Italy. After three years, I decided to take up the challenge and become a freelancer, in order to devote myself to those texts I was most interested in. My experience as PM gave me a deep insight into all aspects related to the translation process, thus I perfectly know and understand the needs and expectations of Project Managers whom I work with. I am able to work under pressure, and manage large volumes of work with no prejudice to quality. I am able to translate very technical texts, like instruction manuals for X-ray inspection systems, but also to use my creative side to produce translations of content marketing articles.

I am a freelance translator based in Milan. During my university years I have collaborated with many translation agencies, and now I am starting my freelance business. I have graduated with full marks in Linguistic and cultural mediation in 2019, with a thesis on the translation of a french user guide about e-agriculture. I have attended courses on literary translation, specialized translation, interpreting - chuchotage, conference interpreting and consecutive interpreting. I have done traineeships in 3 different LSP based in Milan, and I worked in each one during 3 months. I have improved my hard skills and I have gained some important soft skills - as teamwork, problem-solving and lateral thinking. I am a research doctor in Slavic studies and Ural-Altaic philology. Member of AIS (Italian Slavists Association). Native languages: Italian and Russian. I've been working as a freelance translator since 2004, therefore I can deem myself quite skilled in such a field. Being a highly responsible and qualified linguist, I firmly believe that any translated text has to flow and fit the culture of the language as well as the target audience it is written and translated for.
