We’re looking for a technical writer to join the Smartcat team and work together with our product and marketing teams to deliver quality and engaging educational content for our end customers who are on a journey of integrating their localization workflows with Smartcat. We need a person who is well versed in technology and can explain technical matters even to someone who's far from tech. Your content will be reaching out hundreds of thousands Smartcat users and language professionals globally. Your mission is to produce an impact, and we have a scale to do that.
Own our content strategy and style guidelines for developers and non-technical end customers alike.
Research and plan a content calendar to support our company OKRs.
Research technical topics to get a deeper understanding of the subject, then break them down into logical and easy to digest content pieces.
Author new technical and non-technical content, such as help center articles, blog posts, guides, API documentation.
Prepare screenshots and screen recordings on as needed basis to back up the written matter.
Work together with designers to prepare instructional illustrations and infographics to explain complex technical concepts in a clear way.
Collaborate with engineers and product owners to ensure the quality, depth, and accuracy of the content you write.
Constantly review and improve upon our public-facing documentation.
3+ years of experience as a technical or content writer in enterprise SaaS platform or startup environments.
Experience creating customer-focused copy, such as blog posts and help articles.
Tech-savvy and passionate about understanding and learning new technological concepts, tools and approaches.
Experience preparing video tours / walkthroughs for software projects.
Exceptional command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Russian is a plus.

Ability to work independently—define roadmaps, then steadily execute on them—with little or no supervision.
Exceptional communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers.
Readiness to work in a highly intense startup environment, requiring extreme focus, a sense of urgency, and persistence to break through.
Passion for rich media-based storytelling and knowledge of instructional video and animation authoring tools is a strong plus.
